6. Visitor Parking

Adopted by Council at the February 10, 2026 council meeting

  1. Definition of "Visitor"

    For the purposes of the visitor parking bylaw, a "visitor" means a person who:

    1. does not reside at the strata property, whether as an owner, tenant, occupant, or otherwise;
    2. is not employed by, contracted by, or providing regular services to any resident of the strata property.

    A person who meets any of the following criteria shall not be considered a visitor and is not entitled to use visitor parking:

    1. any person who resides at the strata property, including owners, tenants, and occupants;
    2. any vehicle owned, leased, or regularly operated by a resident of the strata property, regardless of who is driving.
  2. Time Limitations
    1. A visitor's vehicle may not occupy visitor parking for more than forty-eight (48) hours in any seven (7) day period, except with prior written consent of the Strata Council.
    2. For the purposes of calculating the forty-eight (48) hour limit, all time spent in visitor parking within a seven (7) day rolling period shall be cumulative, regardless of whether the vehicle leaves and returns during that period.
    3. A visitor's vehicle may not occupy visitor parking for more than six (6) days in any thirty (30) day rolling period, except with prior written consent of the Strata Council.
  3. Requests for Extended or Frequent Use

    Requests for extended visitor parking beyond the limits in Section 2 must be submitted in writing to the Strata Council in advance and shall include:

    1. the expected duration and frequency of use;
    2. the reason for the request; and
    3. the license plate number of the vehicle.

    The Strata Council may grant, deny, or impose conditions on such requests at its discretion.

  4. Enforcement
    1. All vehicles using visitor parking must display a valid visitor parking pass, issued by the Strata Corporation, in a clearly visible location on the vehicle's dashboard. The pass must show the unit number of the resident being visited.
    2. Vehicles in visitor parking without a valid, properly displayed parking pass may be subject to towing at the vehicle owner's expense without further notice.
    3. The Strata Corporation may monitor visitor parking usage and maintain records of vehicles using visitor parking stalls.
    4. Residents are responsible for ensuring their visitors comply with this rule and the visitor parking bylaw.
    5. Violations of this rule may result in fines as permitted under the Strata Property Act and the strata's bylaws, and repeated violations may result in towing at the vehicle owner's expense.
