Various residents have expressed thoughts regarding the cost of salting and snow removal, and this information aims to better educate how it works.
The services rendered by the company we have contracts are automatically triggered based on weather conditions and forecasts:
- Salting is to commence when the weather has gone to 0° and will have any kind or degree of precipitation/moisture/ice/snow or risk of slips.
- Snowplowing operations to commence when one inch, or more, of snow accumulates as determined by contractor; irrespective of time of day or day of week and including all holidays.
There is a set fee for each visit of salting or plowing. If we have a very cold, snowy winter, our snow removal and salting fees will understandably be higher than if we have a very mild winter.
These contracts are generally agreed to months in advance in order to secure a slot with the contractor. Multiple proposals have been reviewed, and what was picked was by far the best option for the strata.
